The Short Version
- Your Starlink telemetry stays local. We never collect, store, or transmit your network data.
- Minimal data collection. We only process what's needed for licence validation and payments.
- No analytics or tracking. No cookies, no user profiling, no advertising.
1. Data We Collect
Licence Validation
When you activate or validate a licence, we process:
- • Your licence key
- • A hardware identifier (hashed, anonymised)
- • Application version
This is used solely to verify your licence is valid and within the device limit.
Payments
When you purchase a licence, payment is processed by our payment provider. We receive:
- • Email address (for licence delivery and support)
- • Transaction reference
We do not receive or store your payment card details.
Update Checks
Nexus periodically checks for updates. These requests include only your current version number and operating system. No personal data is transmitted.
2. Data We Don't Collect
Nexus is designed to be local-first. We explicitly do not collect:
- Your Starlink telemetry data
- Speed test results
- GPS coordinates or location
- Obstruction or outage data
- Connected device information
- Usage analytics or behaviour
All telemetry data shown in Nexus is fetched directly from your Starlink terminal and stored only on your local machine.
3. Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services:
- Payment Processing: Payments are handled securely by our payment provider. They are subject to their own privacy policy.
- Update Server: Hosted infrastructure to deliver application updates.
- Licence Server: Validates licence keys and activation status.
4. Data Retention
- • Licence records: Retained for the duration of your licence plus any applicable legal retention period.
- • Support correspondence: Retained for 2 years after your last contact.
- • Local telemetry data: Stored only on your device. You control retention through the app settings.
5. Your Rights
Under applicable data protection laws, you have the right to:
- • Access the personal data we hold about you
- • Request correction of inaccurate data
- • Request deletion of your data
- • Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent
